As part of a typeface design class I took at Carnegie Mellon, we were tasked to create a pixel font. I knew immediately I wanted to make a pixel blackletter, as I had hunted for one I liked while working on Steelshire, but couldn’t find one to my liking.

Replicating organic shapes with pixels was a really fun challenge! This project definitely opened my eyes to the world of pixel fonts, and I definitely plan to make more in the future.

Here is some of the traditional calligraphy I started with to reference my shapes from.
