In my role as an intern at Macmillan Audio, I am responsible for adapting various hardcover designs into a square audiobook format. Additionally, I design advertisements for audio titles: gifs for newsletters and website, static graphics and short form videos for social media ads, and even one-color ads that get published in the back of print books.
Since starting in June of 2024, I’ve adapted over 100 hardcover designs into audiobook covers. It’s a really fun design challenge—like a puzzle, almost. How can you rearrange the elements into a completely different shape while still maintaining as much of the original layout as possible?
